Sung-Hee Son is a multidisciplinary artist and curator. In her art practice, she explores conceptually driven themes of identity, socio-political issues and emotive vs rational expressions are also long recurring subjects in her work themes of experienced and imagined realities through abstract paintings, thematic photography, mixed media and installations. She is interested in tensions and harmonies between things, especially in relationships of art to each other in pairs or multiples.
With professional roots in Boston and New York City at institutions such as Sotheby’s Art Auction House, Pratt Institute and James Cohan Gallery, Sung-Hee brings a wealth of knowledge to her curatorial and cultural programming practice. Her mission is to amplify emerging voices and foster community through art.
